A Thousand Acres of Silence

Jhaltola is not a place you've heard of. That is the point. Misty Mountains sits here, near Berinag in the Kumaon Himalayas, surrounded by a thousand acres of dense forest at 2,200 metres. The nearest known name is Chaukori, an hour's drive away. Everything between is pine, oak, and the kind of quiet that takes getting used to.

The retreat is built for families and small groups who want the mountains without the mountain-town experience. There are forest trails that loop through the property, bonfires under a canopy of stars, and mornings where the clouds sit below you, filling the valley like a white sea.
