Colours of the Spirit

Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote that nature always wears the colours of the spirit. At White Peaks, near Nainital, that observation becomes lived experience. The property is framed by a forest so lush it feels painted — oak, rhododendron, and wild cherry in layers of green — with the snow peaks gleaming white above the canopy.

The house is a heritage property with orchards and gardens, built in an era when hill stations were designed for contemplation rather than tourism. There are forest walks, birding trails, and a terrace that faces the entire Kumaon range. But the real luxury here is the permission to do nothing at all.
